Easy to Use Web 2.0 Tools

Wordle: web 2.0 tools for kids

When I went to the computer lab with my young learners, I realised that creating something using web 2.0 tools won’t very easy with them as I only see them once a week.

I’m just thinking about tools that don’t require registration and e-mail confirmation as it will be too time consuming. They are digital natives, I know but they are only good at playing computer games and as they are young learners they are slower than the teenagers. However, they are more motivated and enthusiastic. I belive if they hear their voices published on their class blogs they will be more willing.

While thinking, I’ve come up with some sites. As I mentioned above they are easy to create and good to start with. You don’t have to ask the kids to register and all the products can be used on the blogs.

Here is my list.

Voki  ask them create a character, then help them record their voice and tell the story of the character. The character can talk about his/her daily routine, likes and dislikes, family members, schoo and school subjects, etc.

bighugelabs ask them upload a picture and create a poster or a magazine cover.

fodeyask themto  write a short story for the newspaper, or a dialogue of the tomatoes, flowers or the owls.

wordle ask them to list the words they’ve just learned, create posters for differnt cathegories.

talking pets ask them to make their pet speak.

vocarro give them a topic and ask them to speak about it.

wallwisher give them a topic and brainstorm it.

Bubble Joy give them a task and help them create their e-cards recording their voices.
