Sentence Building Game With Letters

Make some cards with the letters of the alphabet on. You can discard the less common ones such as x and z. (or you can use an online random wheel generator)

Shuffle the card and get learners to select 6 cards (or use the wheel, spin and choose 6 letters)

Write the selected letters on the board. Tell students to make sentences with the letters in order (or in any order they want). They can add articles and prepositions.

Give an example. Then ask them to produce their sentences (individually/ in pairs or in groups depending on the size or level of your class)

Let’s say the letters are C B P W K T so an example sentence with these letters can be:

Can Beth play with the kids tomorrow?

Once they’ve written their sentences, write them on board and do error correction.
